I have owned the car for five fun-filled years, but now the want for a new toy has persuaded me to give it up. On the whole it's a very reliable car but there are a few minor niggles expected of an aging French motor. However, none of these affect the overall driving experience. The moments spent with a massive grin on my face far outweigh any times without anyway, it has been so fun to own. The effort keeping it in good nick has always been rewarded too, as these really are a driver's treat. It is extremely quick and handles like (I hate to say it) a Go-Kart. I don't think I'll ever own another car that is as raw, exhillarating, and just plain lairy to drive as this, I have a lot of great memories of it.I have used it on the road as a weekend car and for just two short track days.The modifications don't make it an ideal, everyday vehicle, but if you're looking for a fun car for the road or an out and out track car you will struggle to find better at this price. On the subject of money, I am selling it for what I believe to be a very reasonable price. This is because I don't need the money from the sale to buy the new car, I just can't afford the space of having two cars at my house. 10-Months MOT6-months taxPS2400 O.N.O The Spec: It's a 1995 Stage 1 106 Rallye It's running a 106Gti 1.6 16v lump (55k)Pipercross Cone Induction Kit (great noise)Custom stainless straight-through exhaust with 4-2-1 manifold. (Even better noise!)Lowered 40mm all-round on Apexi shocks and springsFully stripped-out interior, every spare gram has been removed.Carbon Fibre door cards front and rearFull bolt-in 106-Cup Safety Devices roll cage (cost PS800) which has been powdercoated white.Momo Suede steering wheelBimarco Expert bucket seats (8kg each and PS250 each)Ricco 4-point racing harnessesBMC big-disc conversion with Saxo VTS calipers. Faults: The nearside bumper vent has fallen off (see pic). The resulting hole is perfect for fitting a cold air intake though, I just never thought it was needed.The rear wiper does not work, it kept shorting and I couldn't find where, so I just disconnected the motor.Both seats have faded a bit and the driver's seat bolster is showing signs of wear, however both faults can be repaired cheaply. Brand new parts:The engine has a brand new rebuilt top-end. A mechanic misfitted the timing belt which caused it to fly off. Obviously this damaged the engine but I managed to prove it was his fault so the garage agreed to put the car completely right.Brand new OEM headlightsBrand new Uni Royal front tyres, the rear Kumho's are pretty much brand new too.Two brand new 106Gti driveshaftFully undersealed twice during my ownership Included in Sale: Spare wheel and tyreCatalytic converter Thanks for looking, if you want to know anything else about the car then don't hesitate to ring me.
