Description
While Elva found success in Formula Junior racing and with beautiful sports racers like the Mk. 7 and Mk. 8, their take on a production sports car was the lovely Courier. The Courier used plenty of BMC parts. As so often happened with these small English manufacturers, Elva ran into financial troubles and from 1962 rights to the Courier were sold to Trojan, who continued production until 1969. This particular Mk I Courier has been specially built by ELVA Racing for a Gentleman racer living in Switzerland. He participated in many European events and showed determination once out on the race track. He became the Historic Swiss Champion and finished 4th in the European Championship with many podium finishes at circuits and hillclimbs. The current owner continued to use the Courier in classic racing and hillclimb events. The car is being offered for sale with FIA/HTP papers having very successfully raced in the GTS5 class. The car is located in Geneva, Switzerland. Full details available upon request. English, French, German & Dutch spoken.
