It is widely accepted that the 1973 2.7RS offers the purest form of Porsche driving and nothing Porsche has manufactured since has come close. With prices now touching the 200k mark for genuine lightweight RS's this car offers a very affordable alternative.
Starting with a 1973 shell this car has been built to an exceptional standard with great care being taken to ensure the car replicates a genuine RS in both looks and performance.
Running a correct 2.7RS engine on MFI the car has had the benefit of a recent freshen up with very little ours since. The 915 gearbox has an LSD fitted and shifts smoothly in all gears. The car has also been fitted with the period correct aluminium S type front brake callipers and has just had new discs and pads all round. The 7 & 8x15 Fuchs wheels are in excellent condition and have just been re-shod with Michelin Pilot Cup Sport tyres all round. A Dural front under-shield is also included in the sale of this vehicle and can be fitted prior to delivery if preferred. This car is a real pleasure to drive on the open road and could be very competitive in the correct hands!
Testament to the build quality and detail of this car is the fact that it has full FIA papers and a race history in Switzerland where the car was built. It's Swiss competition passport confirms it competed at: Hockenheim-Slalom Interlaken (2003); Varano race circuit Varano de'Melegari in Italy (2000); and Hockenheim-Goldpokal Rennen (2003). A copy of these papers is available on request.
This vehicle manages to strike that balance between a competition car and road car very well and would be perfect for events such as the Tour de France Auto etc...
