Welcome to the sale of my loved 205 1.6 GTI, please take your time and read through. I have been building the car up over the last three years but have now grudgingly decided as i am going to be away for half of this season, that i will sell the car and start a new project fancy going more historic. Not willing to let this go for pennies as i have spent alot of money on the car but realise i won't be getting back what i put in.
The car wouldn't take much to get it a MSA logbook, would need seats, harnesses, fire extinguisher, electric isolator, fuel sampling and the rear window either needs to go plastic or cover with safety film. Realise it seems alot but it isn't really when you look at what has already been done to the car.
This will be a good strong car to go out and have fun in, and a very good basis to improve from.
This car would pass a mot with ease as is in very good condition and i liked to keep it up to a very good standard.
The Car spec
Body
* Perspex on all side windows
* 10 point OMP cage professionally fitted by ex Peugeot sport mechanic receipts for proof and have certificate
* Non sunroof shell no rust
* The odd battle scar from doing a couple of road rally events
* Omp suede steering wheel
* Inside stripped, only the dash left had planned to flock it
* Handheld 2kg fire extinguisher
* Sparco foot rest with horn switch mounted
* Centre console going through rebuild to allow space for kill switches, other various switches and fuse box.
Engine and gearbox
* 1600 GTI engine rebuilt less than 20 miles ago
* Brand new bearings and seals all round
* New piston rings and liners
* Head: big valve 43mm inlet, head is ported and polished, double spring valves bronze guides
* Pt34 Kent cam, vernier pulley
* 4into 1 manifold with full grp n exhaust
* Standard be 1 box
* Uprated gear linkages and quick shift lever
* Heavy duty forest spec sumpgaurd
Brakes
* Braided hoses on front, have rears ready to fit once callipers fitted
* Standard all round
* Fly off handbrake
* Have full set of 1.9 rear callipers just need the stub axle to make them fit.
Suspension
* All standard but found very stiff so think may have tarmac springs but not sure as not touched since bought the car
* Rear axle was rebuilt back in 2007 not done more than 2000 miles since
Wheels
* 5x 15 speedlines on road tyres
* 6x14 speedlines on Michelin gravel tyres soft compound
Spares
* Not much to be honest but you can have everything i have for the car
Bad points
* Front grill was cut to accommodate the spots but now been move forward more.
* Nearside wing had a dent been filled and sprayed to protect it
* Scratches here and there also but nothing major
the seats in the picture are no longer with the car as sold due to being out of date so needed in date seats to gain logbook.
