Auction link: https://www.proveiling.nl/Alle-kavels/9424/Veiling HISTORY Audi Sport Ingolstadt build 62 long wheel base Audi quattro rally cars for their factory team and some privateers. In 1981 the IN-NJ 10 was produced with serial number R12. Franz Wittmann used IN-NJ 10 for the 1981 Acropolis Rally and the 1981 Rally of the 1000 lakes. In 1982 Audi Sport UK was started and led by David Sutton of David Sutton Motorsport. They received three works cars and one new body from Audi Sport Germany to start the program. The first three UK registrated cars are LYV 4X, LYV 5X and the LYV 6X. The damaged R12 was reshelled with the new R33 body but kept the technical parts and the VIN number. On February the 22th 1982 this Audi was registrated by VAG UK Ltd with the LYV 6X license plate. Audi Sport UK used the LYV 6X mainly for rally's, tests, shows and as a reconnaissance car. In 1986 and 1987 LYV 6X was being used by Sahid Al Hajari in the Middle East Championship as his practice car, managed by David Sutton. It was then returned to the UK and rebuilt, but with the original engine removed and replaced with a tuned road engine, before being sold by David Sutton at the start of 1989 to a collector in the Philippines. This collector used it for four rallies only, as part of the Pall Mall Rally Team in 1989-1991. The car returned to the UK in 1995 and was restored over a period of 3 years. Back to A1 works original specification, complete with an A1 engine. The car has been used for occasional track day since its acquisition. From 2000 to mid 2003, the car was owned by a private collector in the UK. In 2003 the current owner bought and transferred the car to the Netherlands where it forms part of a small collection of original Audi works cars. UK registration papers (V5C) for LYV 6X are present including all previous keepers. LYV 6X is still registered in the UK. Multiple National and International rallies and demonstrations have been driven by this owner, including the 2004 Eifel rally and the Dutch Zuiderzee Rally. TRANSMISSION - Ex-works competition gearbox/clutch rebuilt by Quattro Sport. Original to the car. - Limited slip differential. Original to the car. - Original works gear change. SUSPENSION AND BRAKES - Works specification gravel suspension. - Works brakes with correct aluminum rake bells. - Fitted with wet tires on PLS rims. COLORS HISTORY OF LYV 6X David Sutton : Red - Grey - Black (Original Audi Sport Color pallet). Rothmans colors : Blue (the Original Group 4 fenders, still in the car show blue paint). Content is application for re-export bond for the rally car. 05-04-1990 Letter from the Dept of Finance that the car may be released under the re-export rules by the customs. 24-05-1991 Letter from the Federal Division to the Dept of Finance, bureau of customs Manila on re-export bond 01741 (concerns the LYV 6X). 07-11-1991 Re-export bond is renewal from7 Nov 1991 until 14 May 1992. 6. Return of LYV 6X to the UK: 04-10-1995 Invoice for transport car and parts. Rent of container, 37 days on boat to England, unloading and transport of the car including spares per trailer. 08-1995 Letter to UK customs for re-import LYV 6X and request original license plate. 7. Test certificates: 28-05-1996 MOT test certificate LYV 6X 15-05-1998 MOT test certificate LYV 6X 8. Repair: 13-01-2000 Invoice to rebuild A1 gearbox, refurbish radiator.
