Description
Golf GTI MK 2 1.8 16V 3 Door Rally Car Tarmac Spec GTI Rally Car. MSA/ RAC Log Booked - Built in 1997. I Bought the car October 2005 to do the 2006 Regencey StageS. It was my intention to sort the little jobs that need doing to it (see below) and keep it but a change of circumstances means that really it must go to a new home as I have given up rally ing after 10 years. The Spec is as follows: 1.816V (Standard engine 123BHP)Welded in cage (not bolt in)Strut BraceCobra Monaco SeatsBrake Bias ValveTRS BeltsExtinguishers were new in Oct 2005 (Will need recharging soon). This is what Needs doing..... Gear change is sloppy and wants re-bushing. I have the re-bushing kit so this will be sold with car.Passenger Side front hub wants replacing as the threads are worn. Can be bought for little cost on ebay.Front Brakes need some attention - Believe to be the master cyclinder requiring an overhaul. Brakes work fine unless used very very hard then they become vague. Overhaul kits are not much money.Front indicators / headlamps require wiring back up as I replaced the bumper and lower metal airdam and cross member but I have not rewired them back up. Simple enough to do.Sumpguard wants new front brackets welding onto the front crossmember. I am sure you can weld.....!!Slight exhaust blow from it seems to be the middle box. Cheap enough - Eurocarparts/ Sweedeutsch etc.No MOT - Was last MOT'D back in Oct 2005 when I bought it. It has done ONE event since then and has been kept in my dry garage. No Tax - Cuerrently on a SORN.Car Starts fine and obviously drives but as it has been in my garage for a while I noticed when I moved it into the yard the other day the rear drums are binding and the handbrake is a little sticky - An hour in the garage with the WD40 and wire brush will I am sure sort this.Front Number Plate Required - Cant find the old one!The other Bits / comments....... Buyer Collects - Will need trailering away. CASH on collection only. Would make a cheap rally car again or could be broken for spares -excellent shell etc. All the glass is still in the car, the seats alone would fetch a couple of hundered pounds. Four alloy wheels and eight steels all with tyres incuded. A few spares incuded (see pic). I could fix it easily myself or break it but to be honest due to other commitments I have neither the time nor the patience. Sold as seen (You are welcome to view but PLEASE.......only view if you are very serious - all our time is precious!.) No.... its not prefect but would make a cheap competition car again for very little money / time invested. If it was MOT'D and ready to rally tomorrow then I reckon it would be worth about PS1,500....Howvever my price reflects the work I think required. PS850.00
