Escort RWD rally car. I built this car from a year old shell in 1989. The shell was professionaly converted by Rally Design and the conversion and fabrication was carried out by Maylem Motorsport. I have a photgraphic record of the build.
The car has been kept inside a clean dry workshop for the last 25 years and only comes out for events. I rallied the car back in the early 90's with a lot of sucess.
The car entered 14 rallies between 1989 & 1992 most of the results were top ten including class wins and two third overall's. Due to family comiments the car was laid up in 1993 and didn't turn a wheel for about 15 years.
The car did two rallies and two Sprints in 2013, I have decided that it is a young mans sport now and feel it is time to retire from rallying to look for a different form of motorsport.
The car has a current MSA Logbook. I have spoken to the MSA and the car doesn't require the new CAT1 Logbook as the RWD Gartrac & Genisis cars are classed as limited production saloons.
This car has covered 3,500 miles only and benefits from a total revamp over the past couple of years. All the mechanical items mentioned in this description have only done three sprints and two rallies. This car has never been rallied in the woods all the events it has entered in have been on tarmac.
